Types of membership for the Professional Visual Arts Association
Membership in the General Assembly is divided into

Supporting Member
Each type of membership has its own conditions and regulations for joining. If the association wishes to enable its employees or contractors to obtain membership in the general assembly, it must create a membership category in accordance with the fifth paragraph of Article 8 of these regulations, provided that this category is not entitled to vote on general assembly decisions.

Regular Membership
Membership Terms
- Payment of 500 Saudi Riyals as an annual subscription fee to the association.
- Collaboration with the association and its affiliates to achieve its objectives.
- To not engage in any act that may harm the association.
- Compliance with the decisions of the general assembly.
- Must be fully qualified.
- Must be a Saudi national.
- Must have a good conduct reputation and behavior.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Commitment to pay the membership fees.
- To Submit a membership application to the association according to the template provided prepared by the center.
- Must hold a university degree as a minimum in one of the visual arts disciplines or specialities or one of the international or local professional certificates.
- The member must submit a portfolio showcasing their significant works, achievements, and experiences contributed to the visual arts sector for approval and authorization by the board of directors and accepting his membership.
- Must be actively practicing in the profession and have contributions to the field with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
Regular members have the right to the following
- The right to attend and vote in the general assembly.
- Receive basic information about the activities of the association regularly.
- Access to meeting minutes and financial documents at the association’s headquarters.
- Inviting the general assembly to hold an extraordinary, very special meeting in solidarity with 25% of the members entitled to attend the general assembly.
- The right to delegate in writing to one of the members to represent him in the general assembly according to the provisions set forth in Article 21 of the Executive Regulations of the Civil Associations and Private Institutions System.
Supporting Membership
Supporting Member conditions
- The member making a donation to the association from his own account should be an amount not less than 100,000 Saudi Riyals unrestricted, during the term of the current board of directors preceding the start date of the elections that follow by ten working days. If the donation occurs after this date or in the presence of an interim or in the presence of a temporary board of directors, the donation will be attributed to the first elections held after the donation date.
- Cooperating with the association and its affiliates and its employees to achieve its objectives .
- To not engage in any act that may harm the association.
- Compliance with the decisions of the general assembly.
Supporting members have the right to the following
- The right to attend and vote in the general assembly, with the added right to vote in the election of the association’s board of directors with a number of votes equivalent to the total of their paid membership fees and unrestricted donations during the term of the current board of directors preceding the elections by ten working days, divided by the value of the regular membership fee. This is for nomination in one election cycle.
- If the supporting member is a legal entity, they can appoint a representative to vote on their behalf and exercise the representative rights as specified by the authorized party of the legal entity according to Article 10 of the Executive Regulations.
- Receive basic information about the activities of the association regularly or about the association’s activities periodically.
- Reviewing the records and financial documents at the association’s headquarters.
- Call for an extraordinary general assembly meeting in solidarity with 25% of the members entitled to attend the general assembly.
Student Membership (Additional Membership)
It is a membership for male and female students who are in one of the visual arts specializations or who have an interest in this field.
Student membership conditions
- Pay an annual subscription to the association of (150) riyals
- Submitting a document proving affiliation with an educational institution along with a national ID or passport
- Not to do anything that might harm the association
- Commitment to the decisions of the General Assembly
- The applicant must be a resident of the same country in which the association operates unless special exceptions are approved.
- The membership application must be submitted according to the form prepared by the Center and the Membership Committee must approve its membership before activating the membership.
- Membership remains valid as long as the above conditions are met.
- The association has the right to cancel and renew membership based on a periodic review to verify that the conditions are met.

Participating Membership (Additional Membership)
A member becomes a participant member of the association if they practice the association’s specialty, apply for membership, and it is determined that none of the conditions of general membership apply to them. A decision from the board of directors accepting them as a participating member is then issued. Alternatively, they may apply for associate membership themselves.
They are entitled to
- Participation in the association’s activities and gaining professional experience.
- Receive basic information about the association’s activities periodically, every fiscal year.
- The right for the associate member to communicate with the association through any available means, with the board of directors or its delegates or its authorized representative providing a response through the same means or through the member’s registered address.
- Access to specialized training courses and workshops in visual arts and participation in professional development programs.

- He has a record of participating in the visual arts, whether professional or amateur be a familiar with the techniques and concepts in the field

Conditions for Candidacy to join the Membership of the Board of Directors
- Must be a Saudi national.
- Must be of full legal capacity or fully qualified
- Must have a good reputation and behavior. Good conduct
- Must hold supporting or regular membership in the general assembly of the association for a period of not less than six months.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must not be an employee in the center or the non-profit organizations unit in the supervisory authority.
- Must commit to pay membership fees if applicable.
- Must not have a final judgment against them for a crime involving dishonor or trust unless their status has been restored.
- Must submit a membership application to the association using the template provided by the center.
- Presenting an electoral program that considers the objectives of the association and the purpose for which it was established.
- Must hold a university degree as a minimum in one of the visual arts disciplines/specializations or one of the recognized international or local professional certifications.
- Must Submit a portfolio showcasing the member's significant works, achievements, and experiences contributed to the visual arts sector for approval and authorization by the board of directors.
- Must be a practitioner of the profession and have contributions to the field with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
Criteria for Approval of General Membership by the Board of Directors
- Must meet the candidacy requirements for joining the board of directors.
- Must Have previous managerial experience in the non-profit sector.
- Must have been recommended by two members of the board of directors.
The Honorary Member
The honorary member is someone who is granted an honorary membership in the board by the board of directors, based on their status and reputation, and for those who have rendered distinguished services to the state, association, or those with prestigious activity in the public domain. The board of directors also reserves the right to revoke this membership, provided that the following conditions are met:
- The honorary member is not considered a member of the board of directors, and they are not subject to the obligations and rights enjoyed by the board members.
- The honorary member has the right to participate in board meetings for discussion purposes only, without voting rights, and their attendance does not validate the quorum.
- The center must be provided with a copy of the board's decision regarding the grant or withdrawal of honorary membership, including the names and qualifications of the honorary members, along with justifications for such actions.
- If the member is a legal entity, they may be represented in voting and rights by the legal representative appointed by the authority in the legal entity, in accordance with Article (10) of the Executive Regulations.
